(Witness) BioI was born March 4th, 1815, in Burkly County, Virginia. Was married the 4th day of May, 1838, to Rebecca Murphy. Moved to Clinton County, Ohio in the fall of 1838; lived there until 1860, when I moved to Jay County, Indiana, onto a farm in Jackson Township, on the 14th day of October, 1860. While on our way to Indiana my wife was taken sick and died and was buried at Xenia, Ohio. After she was buried I, withmy six children, came on to the farm in Jay County, that I had already purchased in the summer of 1861 [sic]. I built a cabin on my farm and moved into it, where I and my children lived till April 15th, 1868, when I was married to Elizabeth Sisk, who I lived with until December 13th, 1893, when death again deprived me of my companion, since which time I have lived with my daughter. I lived in Polingtown during the time I lived with my second wife, nearly twenty-five years. When I moved onto my farm it was nearly all in woods. It is now all under cultivation except about six acres. In the year 1840 I joined the new Christian church in Clinton County, Ohio, of which I remained a member until I came to Indiana. In the fall of 1866 I unted with the Christian church at West Liberty, where I still hold membership.

From the Biography of Albert Brunson.
January 1, 1867, he was united in marriage with Miss Minerva Rooney, a native of Clinton county, Ohio, born June 12, 1843. She is a daughter of James and Rebecca (Murphy) Rooney. Mrs. Brunson was read and educated in her native county, and at the age of seventeen, accompanied her parents to Jay county, Indiana. Her father is living, at the ripe old age of eighty-seven, though his mental and physical condition would indicate a man of sixty. He was born in Berkeley county, Virginia, spent his life in agricultural pursuits, was one of the organizers of the Republican party and still takes an active interest in political affairs. He has been a member of the Campbellite church for many years, and is a man universally esteemed for his integrity and uprightness of character. His wife was also a native of Virginia, born April 15, 1815, and died September 24, 1860. Like her husband, she was a consistent and zealous Christian and died in the faith of blessed immortality. Of the family there are six yet living, and four of these are sisters and residents of Jackson township. One brother is in California. Mrs. Brunson was educated in the public schools of her native state, and is a lady of intelligence and amiability of character.5,4
