Wilbert McBee, 79, retired Baltimore and Ohio Railroad signalman, died Sunday in City Hospital, Martinsburg, where he had been a patient since October 14 after being ill for the past 18 months. A resident of Martinsburg since 1947, he was born in Morgan County, January 26, 1889, son of John W. and Ida Widmeyer McBee.
Mr. McBee had worked for a number of years in the signal department of the B and O Cumberland Division, in Cumbo and Martinsburg, retiring 14 years ago. He was a member of the Bethel Church at Sleepy Creek, Gratitude Lodge 100F at Hedgesville and the Brotherhood of Railway Signalmen. Since going to Martinsburg Mr. McBee had attended the Otterbein United Methodist Church and the Otterbein Men's Bible Class.3

Surviving are her husband Earl Peer, at the home; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Slye, Hagerstown, Md; Mrs. Dorothy Socks, Seminole, Fla; seven grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Martha Kesecker, Berkeley Springs. Mr. and Mrs. Peer recently celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. Mrs. Peer was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church where services were conducted Monday, July 16, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Hennis Fox and the Rev. Henry Fisher officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Helsley Funeral Home helped to make the arrangements.6

The Rev. Earl R. Kesecker died Friday morning, June 28, in Winchester memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Morgan County, September 3, 1890, he was the son of Peter L. and Mary Silvers Kesecker. The Rev. Kesecker was converted in early life and united with the United Brethren in Christ. He joined the Virginia Conference in 1922 and was assigned to the Franklin Circuit. Ordained in 1929, he served the following circuits in the conference: Franklin, New Creek, Great Cacapon, Sleepy Creek, Riverton, Jones Spring, and the Berkeley-Morgan Circuit in West Virginia, and Lacy Springs in Virginia. He retired in 1956 and lived on his farm near Berkeley Springs until 1968 when he purchased a home nearer town and moved there. During this time Rev. Kesecker had been very active in evangelistic work until recently when ill health overtook him.
He is survived by his wife, the former Martha Susan Householder, at the home; two sons, Marvin D., Largent, and Earl R. Jr., Berkeley Springs; six daughters, Mrs. Fern Backer, Manhattan Beach, Calif., Mrs. Ruth Rockwell Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Clara Beeler, Berkeley Springs, Mrs. Annalea Oulie, Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Madalyn Ambrose, Berkeley Springs; and Mrs. Eileen Revell, Baltimore; 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Pentoney, Berkeley Springs; two half sisters, Mrs. Mary Stark, Glenn Rock, Pa. And Mrs. Evelyn Carney, Ridgewood, N.C; one brother, Roy, Berkeley Springs, and two half brothers, Lawrence and Paul, both of Berkeley Springs. A daughter, Mary Lillian, died in 1931. Services were held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church at Spohrs Cross Roads Monday July 1, conducted by Dr. Herbert Doggett, the Rev. William Sansom, the Rev. Ralph Wilson and the Rev. Gary Kerns. Burial was in the church cemetery. Arrangements were made by Helsley Funeral Home.3

Services were held Friday, November 30, at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Thomas and the Rev. Henry Fisher officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Rites were held Sunday afternoon in Evangelical Church at Spohrs Cross Roads, of which he was a member, the Rev. E.D. Spencer, officiating, and burial in adjacent cemetery.6

Mrs. Nannie Myrtle Householder, of Cherry Run, widow of Frank Householder, died Saturday in the Kings Daughters Hospital, Martinsburg, where she had been a patient the previous four weeks. Born November 22, 1898, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Anna Courtney Kesecker. She was a member of the Snyders Evangelical United Brethren Church.
Survivors include two sons-Leon Householder and Earl Householder, both of Cherry Run; three sisters-Mrs. Rose Brough, of Martinsburg; and Mrs. Sarah Blake and Miss Mary Kesecker, both of Berkeley Springs; two brothers-John Kesecker, of Berkeley Springs; and Henry Kesecker, of Gibsonton, Fla; and five grandchildren. The body was removed the Hunter Funeral Home to Mount Zion E.U.B. Church at Spohrs Cross Roads on Tuesday at 1 p.m. for services at 2 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Daniel Frazier. Burial was in the church cemetery.3

Services were conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Snyder's E.U.B. Church by the Rev. Gary Kerns and the Rev. D.A. Frazier. Burial was in the church cemetery. Berkeley Lodge No. 37 conducted Masonic graveside rites.6

Arthur Grant. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.3

Born February 25, 1914 at Spohrs Crossroads, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Betty Kesecker Householder. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Spohrs Crossroads, and also attended the Berkeley Springs Presbyterian Church in recent years. She worked as a knitter at the Interwoven Hosiery Mill in Berkeley Springs. She then worked as a waitress at several local restaurants and retired from Cacapon State Park, Berkeley Springs, in 1975. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Alderton-Dawson American Legion Post #60 and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Risinger-Stotler VFW Post #4019, both in Berkeley Springs.
Surviving are one daughter, Judy V. Shade, McConnellsburg, PA; one sister, Rebecca Michael, Orlando, FL; two brothers, Jack Householder, Jacksonville, FL, and Warren Householder, Charles Town, WV; one granddaughter; a devoted family friend, John M. Murphy, Berkeley Springs; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Yost on June 29, 1980 and one brother, Herbert Householder. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, with the Rev. Hennis H. Fox officiating. Interment will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.7

Born May 14, 1930 in Berkeley Springs, WV, he was the son of the late Charlie and Betty Kesecker Householder. He was a member of the North Jacksonville Baptist Church, Jacksonville. He attended public schools in Morgan County. He moved from Martinsburg to Jacksonville in 1962 and for more than 30 years, owned and operated a general aircraft maintenance facility in Jacksonville. He was a member of the Quiet Birdman's Pilot Association. He was active in Gideon's International. He served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged on May 11, 1950.
Surviving are his wife, Willadene J. Sanders Householder, at home; two sons, Stephen Householder and Darryl Kim Householder; three daughters, Deborah Jewel Shaw, Judith Christine Albritton and Barbara Dianne McDaniel all of Jacksonville; 12 grandchildren; one great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. The Rev. Earl R. Kesecker died Friday morning, June 28, in Winchester memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Morgan County, September 3, 1890, he was the son of Peter L. and Mary Silvers Kesecker. The Rev. Kesecker was converted in early life and united with the United Brethren in Christ. He joined the Virginia Conference in 1922 and was assigned to the Franklin Circuit. Ordained in 1929, he served the following circuits in the conference: Franklin, New Creek, Great Cacapon, Sleepy Creek, Riverton, Jones Spring, and the Berkeley-Morgan Circuit in West Virginia, and Lacy Springs in Virginia. He retired in 1956 and lived on his farm near Berkeley Springs until 1968 when he purchased a home nearer town and moved there. During this time Rev. Kesecker had been very active in evangelistic work until recently when ill health overtook him.
He is survived by his wife, the former Martha Susan Householder, at the home; two sons, Marvin D., Largent, and Earl R. Jr., Berkeley Springs; six daughters, Mrs. Fern Backer, Manhattan Beach, Calif., Mrs. Ruth Rockwell Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Clara Beeler, Berkeley Springs, Mrs. Annalea Oulie, Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Madalyn Ambrose, Berkeley Springs; and Mrs. Eileen Revell, Baltimore; 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Pentoney, Berkeley Springs; two half sisters, Mrs. Mary Stark, Glenn Rock, Pa. And Mrs. Evelyn Carney, Ridgewood, N.C; one brother, Roy, Berkeley Springs, and two half brothers, Lawrence and Paul, both of Berkeley Springs. A daughter, Mary Lillian, died in 1931. Services were held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church at Spohrs Cross Roads Monday July 1, conducted by Dr. Herbert Doggett, the Rev. William Sansom, the Rev. Ralph Wilson and the Rev. Gary Kerns. Burial was in the church cemetery. Arrangements were made by Helsley Funeral Home.1

Marvin Dow Kesecker, 79, of Largent, WV, died Monday, November 11, 1996 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. Born March 21, 1917 in Sleepy Creek, WV, he was the son of the late Rev. Earl R. and Martha Householder Kesecker. During World War II, he served in the United States, Navy, Carpenter's Mate Third Class, in the South Pacific and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon. In the early 1940s, he was employed at Glenn L. Martin, Baltimore, MD. He was a farmer and a self-employed real estate developer. He was employed at Fairchild Aircraft, Hagerstown, MD until his retirement. [Affiliations omitted.] He was an active member of the Enon Primitive Baptist Church, Largent, where he served for more than four decades.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Estawanna Hinds Kesecker in March of 1993; four sisters, Mary Lillian Kesecker, Clara Meier, Madeline Ambrose and Fern Backer. Surviving are his daughter, Leona Kesecker McLanahan, Largent; three sisters, Ruth Cable, Seaford, DE, Anna Lea Oulie, Norfolk, VA, and Eileen Shipley, Baltimore, MD; one brother, Earl R. Kesecker, Jr. Berkeley Springs; and 18 nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union Street, Berkeley Springs. Following will be interment with Masonic graveside rites provided by Deford Lodge #88 A.F. & A.M. and full military graveside honors provided by the Tri-State Honor Guard at the Enon Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Largent.4

She was a member of the American legion Auxillary, Alderson Dawson Post No. 60, Berkeley Springs.
Surviving are her husband, James F. Meier, at home; two daughters, Martha Feole of Fairless Hills, Pa., and June Donadieu of Berkeley Springs; one son, Earl Beeler of Oldtown, Md; stepchildren, Barbara Husby of Washington, D.C. and Steven Meier of Charleston, S.C; five sisters, Fern Backer of Seaford, Del., Ruth Cable of Seaford, Del., Anne Lee Oulie of Norfolk, Va., Madalyn Ambrose of Berkeley Springs, Eileen Shipley of Baltimore, two brothers, Marvin Kesecker of Largent, Earl Kesecker of Berkeley Springs; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, march 6, at the Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, with Dr. Ewart Wyle officiating. Interment was in Union Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.5

Keith Nelson Oulie, 83, of Norfolk, VA, died Saturday, November 10, 2001 at Hampton, VA. Born in Minneapolis, MN, he was the son of the late Nels and Bernice Cors Oulie. He was a retired chief warrant officer-4 after serving 30 years with the United States Navy and was a retired health district administrator with the City of Norfolk. He was of the Lutheran faith. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge Khedive Temple of the Shrine, the Kehdive Cruise Club and past secretary of the Tidewater Boat Club.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Lea Kesecker Oulie of Norfolk; one son, Dr. Keith M. Oulie of Cumberland, VA; and two grandchildren, Michael Nelson Oulie and John Matthias Oulie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Glenn W. Oulie and one sister, Fernne Oulie. A graveside funeral service will be held today, Wednesday, November 14, at 2 p.m. at the Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery, Berkeley Springs, WV with the Rev. Wayne Frum officiating. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling the arrangements.3

Wilbert McBee, 79, retired Baltimore and Ohio Railroad signalman, died Sunday in City Hospital, Martinsburg, where he had been a patient since October 14 after being ill for the past 18 months. A resident of Martinsburg since 1947, he was born in Morgan County, January 26, 1889, son of John W. and Ida Widmeyer McBee.
Mr. McBee had worked for a number of years in the signal department of the B and O Cumberland Division, in Cumbo and Martinsburg, retiring 14 years ago. He was a member of the Bethel Church at Sleepy Creek, Gratitude Lodge 100F at Hedgesville and the Brotherhood of Railway Signalmen. Since going to Martinsburg Mr. McBee had attended the Otterbein United Methodist Church and the Otterbein Men's Bible Class.1
