Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 24, at the Weldon United Methodist Church with Rev. John Connell officiating. Burial was in the Weldon Cemetery. He was born November 7 in Weldon, the son of Charles L. and Dora Wileaver Carr. He married Edith Odaffer Feb. 28, 1923 at Monticello. She died on May 30, 196s. He married Lillian Farris in November 1971 at Eloy, Arizona.

Surviving are his wife, eight daughters, Mrs. Audrey Adams, Weldon; Mrs. Anne Hall, Arlington Heights; Mrs. Sharon Shaw, Clinton; Mrs. Helen Swiggert, Peoria; Mrs. Doris Maxwell, Decatur; Mrs. Kaye Wachob, Weldon; Mrs. Carolyn Perkins, DeLand; Mrs. Dorothy Ferill, Manoa; seven sons, Dale, Cisco; Don, Elgin, South Carolina; Robert, White Heath; Jack of Weldon; Charles L., Weldon; Bill, Weldon; James, Urbana; two sons, Clifford Farris, Decatur; Robert Farris, Florida; two step daughters, Mrs. Jackie Shaw, Mt. Zion, Mrs. Beverly Deck, Decatur; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Johnson, Peoria; Mrss. Margaret Chilfant, Casey; 39 grandchildren; 11 step grand-children; 8 step great grandchildren. One daughter and a grandson preceded him in death. He was a member of the Weldon United Methodist Church and a retired farmer.3
