Funeral services will be held at the Main Funeral Home in New Castle Saturday morning at 11 o’clock, with burial scheduled to follow near 2 o’clock at Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Jefferson Township.
Formerly Candacy Stiles, she was born in Jefferson Township in May 1869 and was the daughter of Stokely and Nellie Secrest Stiles. She continued to make her home in this community until about thirty years ago when she went to New Castle. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She was first married to Albert Bishop, and following his death was later married to Cal Curtis, who also died a few years ago. Surviving her are three daughters and a son, Mrs. Harry Williams and Mrs. Royal Bailey of New Castle, Mrs. Frank Bryan of Muncie, and Herman D. Bishop of Indianapolis.2

Coatesville - Lee Curtis, 80, died Aug. 11 at Putnam County Hospital. Curtis was married to Beulah (Shupe) Curtis. She survives. Curtis was owner of Lee Curtis & Sons Trucking, Inc. for 44 years, retiring in 1992. He was a member of Indiana Motor Trucking Association.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Lee Harcourt of Texas; two sons, Tom and Curtis, both of Coatesville; one sister, Nellie Wellman of Plainfield; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Services were held Aug. 14 Hays Funeral Home, Coatesville. Burial was at Stilesville Cemetery.7
