In observance of their 50th wedding anniversary, Gene and Mildred Curtis will be honored at an open house hosted by Larry, Sue, Leslie and Kim Curtis on Sunday, Dec. 18, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Terry’s Caterhouse. The couple were married Dec. 17, 1944, at the Paragon Christian Church by the Rev. Robert E. Banks. Mrs. Curtis is the former Mildred J. Fishel. Mr. Curtis farmed until 1959, when he went to work for the Morgan County Memorial Hospital for two years. In 1961, he entered the construction industry and is now semi-retired from Curtis Construction, which he founded and later co-owned with his son. Mrs. Curtis was owner of Personality Caterers for 24 years, and currently enjoys a small flower arrangement business in her home. The couple are lifelong residents of Morgan County and attend the First Christian Church in Martinsville.2
