Bob Casteel, 62, of 18 Ridge Drive, died Friday evening at a Rome hospital. Mr. Casteel was born in Floyd County, April 28, 1928, son of the late William J. Casteel and Edith M. Landress Casteel. He had been a longtime resident of Floyd County and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of the Oostanaula Masonic Lodge and the Yaarab Shrine Temple and was employed by I.B.E.W. as an industrial electrician. He was a veteran of the Navy. He was married Feb. 20th, 1948 to the former Julia M. Curtis.
Survivors include: his wife; two daughters, Diane Casteel and Kathy Hand, both of Rome; a son, Robert C. Casteel, Jr., Canton; four grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Myrtle Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Dale Fincher officiating.2

A native of Monroe County, she was a daughter of the late John O. and Nova Moore Moser, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Lane Curtis; two sons, Johnny Lane Curtis and Jeffrey Nathan Curtis; and one sister, Gena Cathcart. She was a member of Toqua Presbyterian Church of Vonore, and was a graduate of Vonore High School. She and her late husband, Lane Curtis, co-founded Curtis Auto Parts in 1956. She was associated with the business until her passing. She was a loving, devoted and beautiful wife, mother and grandmother.

Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home & Cremation Service with the Rev. Ogle Wattenbarger officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Cedar Grove Cemetery. ObitPeace Bee's obituary was published in the Rome Newspaper on 26 January 1980:
Peace Bee Jones, 74, 506 East 20th St., died at 7:10 p.m. Friday at a Rome hospital. Mr. Jones was born in Cherokee County, Ala., Oct 19, 1905, son of the late Jim W. and Maggie Jones. He had resided in Floyd County most of his life and attended the Baptist church. Prior to his retirement in 197s, he was associated with the WestPoint Pepperell Mfg. Co. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was married on Feb. 13, 1926 to Gurtie Bell Curtis, who died Aug. 3, 1976. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Interment will be in East View Cemetery.1
