Weatherford Youth Who Died at Omaha Balloon School. James Owens Curtis of Weatherford recently died of influenza while in training at Fort Omaha, Neb. Curtis attended the training school for student automobile mechanics at Camp Mabry, Austin, and later was sent to Omaha with the Forty-Seventh Balloon Company. He is survived by his father, J.E. Curtis, Weatherford; three sisters, Misses Pauline and Catherine of Weatherford, and Mary of Washington, D.C., and three brothers, F.W. Curtis, Sixty-second Infantry Camp, Freemont, Cal., Lieut. E.S. Curtis, Camp Bowie, and D.C. Curtis, Texarkana.⁵
