ObitDorothy Noralene's obituary was published in the Salisbury Post on 20 February 2013:

Dorothy 'Nora' Craig SALISBURY - Mrs. Dorothy Noraleen (Nora) Curtis Craig, 77, went to her heavenly home on Monday, Feb. 18, 2013 surrounded by her family at her daughter's home. She was the loving wife of the late Rev. Ray H. Craig, former pastor of South China Grove Baptist Church. Blessed by her strong faith and family, she adored her three girls, Kim, Karen and Kelly, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was born on Dec. 4, 1935 in Rowan County, daughter of the late Rev. Cloyd Curtis and Jessie Maebelle Abernathy Curtis. A Rowan County native, Nora spent most of her younger years in Burke County, where she attended school. At a young age she began working at her family's restaurant where she later met and married her sweetheart Ray Craig. Their love for the Lord began their lifelong journey into the Baptist faith. She committed her life to supporting her husband through college and seminary while working several jobs, raising three daughters and serving as a Sunday School teacher. After the loss of her husband, she spent her time spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and gardening. Her love for the Lord never ceased as she always continued to assist the elderly and to minister to others at Salisbury Gardens, Oak Park Retirement Home and Autumn Care Nursing Facility. Patrons and friends of the Checkered Flag Restaurant adored Mrs. Nora's company and fellowship while she spent hours with her daughter, Kim, refilling coffees and teas, and serving slices of her most favorite cakes. Mrs. Nora was passionate about baking and serving others.

Mrs. Craig was preceded in death by brothers, R.C., Ronnie, Harry, Larry, Earl, and Cloyd Curtis Jr; sisters, Diana Curtis and Martha Craig and great-grandson Logan Scott Rabon.

Those left to cherish her memories and life are daughters Kim Alexander and husband Mike of China Grove, Karen Owen and husband Tony of Salisbury, Kelly Street and husband Jeff of China Grove; sister Allene Hartley of Hudson; brothers Clarence Curtis Sr., Tommy Curtis, and J.H. Curtis of Hudson; special brother-in-law Roy Craig and wife Carolyn of Hudson; grandchildren Todd, Kevin and Brandon Alexander of China Grove, Josh Owen of Charleston, S.C., Meagan Rabon of Richfield, Patrick, Ryan and Clancy Street of China Grove, Tracy Owen of Salisbury, Jason Owen of Dresdan, Tenn. and great-grandchildren Amber Alexander, Hunter Alexander, and Corbin, Kaylee and Nolan Rabon, Braxton Owen, Katie and Mollie Painter, and Skyler Rabon.

Visitation and Services: Visitation will be on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at South China Grove Baptist Church in China Grove with the Rev. Gary Curtis, Rev. Shane Utley and Dr. Robert Bloodworth officiating the memorial services. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation and love to Brenda Rice, caregiver, for her love, compassion and guidance during the last months of mothers journey. In addition a special thank you to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County. Linn-Honeycutt, China Grove, is assisting the Craig family.4
