(Witness) NoteB On 3 August 1706 Thomas Curtis petitioned in Burlington County Court that his guardian William Atkinson render an account of his guardianship, which was ordered to be produced by Thomas Revel, Surrogate of New Jersey. According to researcher David Fridley, Thomas' signature on this document bears closre resemblance to the later signatures of Rev. Thomas Curtis of Hopewell, Hunterdon County, New Jersey.2,3 
Will*William Atkinson left a will on 1 October 1714 at Springfield Twp., Burlington, New Jersey, M; proven 3 December 1714, naming children Joseph, John, Mary, Michael, William, Elizabeth, and Isaac, the last five being under age; he bequeaths a farm bought of Peter Harvey, land at Annanickam bought of Jonathan Curtis.1

Ethel was born October 17, 1924, a twin daughter of Bentley Irvin and Nina Mae Downs Wade. Ethel worked at the Lead Hill School Cafeteria, Oberman Garment Factory and 30 years as a Certified Nurses Aid at the Northwest Arkansas Medical Center in Harrison, Arkansas. She loved planting flowers and gardening. She had been confined to a wheel chair the last two years but still was able to be out on her porch and plant over 40 pots of moss roses this year.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Baxter Curtis, her parents and two brothers, Leonard I. Wade and James H. Wade. She is survived by two sons, Bentley Richard Curtis of Granbury, TX and Roger Lee Curtis of Harrison, AR; three daughters, Patricia Ann Mitchell of Cove, AR, Joy Avon Press of Godley, TX and Billie Jean Faust of Battle Creek, MI; twin sister Edith Pearl Edwards of Harrison, AR and brother, John Wesley Wade of Garden City, MO; nine grandchildren, Barbra Ann Mitchell, Michael Len King, Matthew Wade Faust, John Curtis Faust, Leah Faust Benedict, Mary Faust, Terra Curtis Herring, Bentley Richard Curtis, Jr., Quencey Curtis Nichols, two step-grandchildren, Haley Rhodes Hughs and Michael Rhodes, three great grandchildren, Chelsea Beard, Grace King and Maycee Nichols, and two step-great grandchildren, Delon and Cassie Dailey.2

Violet worked at Oberman Levi in earlier years and as a nurse at the hospital. In later years, she was a volunteer at the Hospital Auxiliary Shop until her health began to fail. She was a member of Bergman Baptist Fellowship Church. Daphna Belle Curtis, 87, of Watts, Okla., died Nov. 27, 2008, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark. She was born May 5, 1921, in Kingston, Ark., to Allen and Eleandor Davidson Howard. She was a homemaker and a member of Eastgate Church of Christ in Siloam Springs, Ark.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ray Curtis; two sons, Truman Curtis and David Curtis; and two greatgrandsons. She is survived by four sons, Donald Curtis of Tulsa, Okla., J.R. Curtis of Springdale, J.P. Curtis of Westville, Okla., and Robert Curtis of Watts; a daughter, Wanda Olinger of Fritch, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Dec. 1, 2008, at Wasson Memorial Chapel in Siloam Springs, with Harry Fitzgerald officiating. Burial was at Bell Cemetery in Watts.2
