Denton, Texas, Jan. 4 (Sp).—Mrs. Sarah Doolittle Curtis, 80, wife of the late James W. Curtis of Denton, died here late Tuesday. Funeral services will be conducted her at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon by the Rev. S.M. Black, pastor of the First Methodist Church, and the Rev. A.T. Cooper of Dallas, her former pastor.
Mrs. Curtis had been a resident of Denton County for fifty-seven years and for the last twenty-three years had made her home in Denton. She was a descendant of the famous Doolittle family of Revolutionary days and several of her relatives took a prominent part in the Civil War.
Surviving are a brother, Sterling C. Doolittle of Grenada, Miss., and seven children: Mrs. S.P. Odell, Stony Pass, Texas; R.C. Curtis, Granite, OK; J.T. Curtis, Argyle, Texas; Mrs. R.C. Hicks, Greenville; Mrs. Cora Nichols and E.D. Curtis, Denton, and Mrs. J.E. Arnold of Arlington.6
