Kenneth Lloyd Topper, 88, of Mount Vernon, Ind., died Dec. 13, 2003, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. He was born Oct. 23, 1915, in Posey County, Ind., the son of Raymond and Pina (Bonenberger) Topper. He spent his life farming and being a husband and father.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ralph and Charles Topper; and a sister. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Verda (Ostermann) Topper of Mount Vernon, Ind; two sons, Alan Topper and Bob Topper and his wife, Barb, all of Mount Vernon, Ind; a daughter, Sherry Willis and he husband, Bob, of Mount Vernon, Ind; two brothers, Everett Topper of New Harmony, Ind., and Richard Topper of Mount Vernon, Ind; four grandchildren, Tonia Keller, Craig, Cory and Kris Topper; and four great-grandchildren, Hannah, Noah, Micah and Kenna Keller. Funder services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003 . . . with burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery.⁵

He retired in 1976 from the Farm Bureau Oil Company garage where he was maintenance supervisor. He was a member of the Carmel, Ind. United Methodist Church and Lynhurst Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy Dean Clubb of Indianapolis; and three brothers, Kenneth and Richard both of Mount Vernon, Ind. and Everett of New Harmony, Ind. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna (Benner) Topper in 1989.⁴
