After death of first husband, she married Elder Sylvester Howell on 12 March 1882. Five children were born, three survive: Mrs Herman Gentz of West Sale, Ill., Mrs. Minnie Easton of Paris, Ill., Mrs. Effie Pritchard of Grayville, Ill. Also she is survived by a stepson Stewart Howell, and a step daughter, Della Curtis of Hopkinsville, Kentucky.5

Robert Curtis Walling, 84, of Evansville passed away at 10:45 am, Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Westpark Rehabilitation Center. Robert was born September 20, 1926 in Mt. Vernon, Indiana the son of Curtis and Stella (Ashworth) Walling. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during WWII. Robert retired from Whirlpool. He was a member of Evansville Masonic Lodge #64 and of No-Ruz Grotto, where he was Past Monarch in 1985. Robert was also a member of Riverbend and a lifetime member of VFW Post # 1114. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Mary (Spicer) Walling of Evansville, daughter, Linda Rustin of Evansville, granddaughter, Christina Walling of Evansville, great grandchildren, Damien Armstead, Kenneth Colbert, Jr., Keniyah Walling and Zon'Yell Walling and great great grandchild, Jerimyah Armstead. He was preceded in death by grandson, Zyrale Walling in 2004. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Westpark Rehabilitation Center for their excellent care of Robert. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Monday, June 20, 2011 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - 5330 Washington Avenue with Kevin Scott officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Club will perform full military rites. Friends may call from 2 pm until 8 pm, Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel. No Ruz Grotto will conduct a walk through at 6:30 pm and Evansville Masonic Lodge #64 will hold a Memorial Service at 7 pm.3

Robert Thurman Atherton, 83, of Evansville, died Friday, March 15, 2002, at Westpark Rehabilitation Center. He was employed in the grocery business for many years, including Whitehead's Grocery for 10 years. He was formerly employed at Burch Plow Works. He was a WW II Army veteran, 45th Division "Thunderbirds." He spent most of his days in combat in WW II. He followed Patton, and was in the Sicily Campaign, Naples-Foggia, Southern France and Central Europe. He was decorated with the Theater Ribbon with six Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Ribbon. e is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. and June Atherton of Afton, Tenn; son and daughter-in-law, Larry R. and Patty Atherton of Evansville; grandchildren, Bobbie Jean Graham, Tonya Lee Gilbert, Stanley Atherton, Lorri Simpson and Nick Atherton; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn (Walling) Atherton, who died in 1984; and by his second wife, Wanda (Black) Atherton, in 1992.2
