Born in Bells, TN in 1898 (according to Tn delayed birth certificate) to John Allen Hargett and Mary Ellen Pipkin. She married Elmus Herbert Curtis on May 27, 1918 in Halls and had three sons with him; twins Elmus Herbert Jr. (1919-1969) & John Allen (1919-2012)who was my dad and Billy Thomas (1927-1997). She was a homemaker and loved working in her yards in Covington and Memphis TN. They moved to Eastview TN in 1947 where she had three acres of park like property she was very proud of and I visited at least weekly. She loved her children dearly and when one died young, this and heavy smoking cut short her life as she died 3 months later in McNairy County Hospital of acute heart failure.
