Matthews........Wallace Cecil Curtis, 55, died (5 Nov 1976) at Missouri Delta Community Hospital in Sikeston Friday at 1:12 p.m. of an apparent heart attack. He was born Aug 15, 1921 in Tennessee to Alvin R. Curtis and the late Ollie Winter Curtis. He was married to Louise Curtis, who survives. Her madien name was not available. Other survivors include three sons, Richard, John, and Stanley Curtis of Matthews; eight brothers, Buel Curtis of Aurora, Ill, Cletis Curtis of Matthews, Nelson Curtis of Matthews, J.H.Curtis of Imperial Beach, Calif, Perry Curtis of Oswigo, Ill, Gene Curtis of Matthews, Jerry Curtis of O'Fallon and Don Curtis of Matthews; four sisters, Mrs. Louis Hooks of Matthews, Miss Althea Curtis of Matthews, Mrs. Ruby Silverthorn of Sikeston and Mrs. Barbara Lasaters of Oran; and one grandchild.Friends may call until the time for services at 2 p.m. today at O'Guinn Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Kennett W. Sievers, pastor of Concordian Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Garden of Memorial Cemetery in Sikeston with O'Guinn Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.3

Three daughters, Mrs. LaVern Alderson and Mrs. Betty Sue Phillips, both of Wardell, and Mrs. Judy May of Memphis; One sister, Mrs. Ethel Curtis of Waverly, Tenn; Twenty grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.She was preceeded in death by her husband, Melvin B Curtis, and an infant son and daughter. Services were Sunday at First Baptist Church in Wardell, the Rev. Ron Poole officiating, with burial in Wardell Memorial Cemetery, Jimmy Osburn Funeral Home of Wardell in charge. Pallbearers were Joe Curtis, Jr., Allen Curtis, Clyde Curtis Jr., Ronnie Curtis, Johnny Gotcher and Melvin Curtis.

He and Lucille Stidham were married Dec. 8, 2006. Curtis was a retired heavy equipment operator with Stovall Construction in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of Hooe Baptist Church in Oran, Mo., and Operating Engineers Local 513 in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Clyde Curtis Jr. of Oran, Melvin Curtis of Morley; three daughters, Karla Seyer of Austin, Texas, Barbara Heisserer of Indianapolis, Susan Martin of Linn Creek, Mo; three brothers, Noel Curtis of St. Louis, Eugene Curtis of Scurry, Texas, Joe Curtis of Millington, Tenn; three sisters, Lavern Alderson of Lakeland, Tenn., Betty Phillips of Farmington, Mo., Judy May of Bartlett, Tenn; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson. Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 2 p.m. Sunday. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hooe Baptist Church, with the Rev. Aaron Cornman officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens at Morley.3

Rosa Mae Curtis, 69, of Oran, MO, died at 8:51 p.m. Aug. 31, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Born Jan. 25, 1932, in Gideon, MO daughter of the late Henry and Ella Kellum Brown, she retired as a licensed practical nurse for the Chaffee Nursing Center. She was a member of Hooe Baptist Church near Oran. Her husband, Clyde Curtis Sr., survives of the home. Other survivors include: two sons, Clyde Curtis Jr. and Melvin Curtis; three daughters, Karla Seyer, Barbara Heisserer, and Susan Martin; one sister, Lucille Stidham; and 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. One brother preceded her in death. Friends called at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Services were scheduled at Hooe Baptist Church where the Rev. Jack Bishop and the Rev. J.D. McCord officiated.
Burial followed in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.1
