He was born September 26, 1916 to Ray and Olive Chandler Field. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by a son, Leroy Field, and a daughter, Bernice Pierce. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Field, of Ozark; two stepdaughters, Rebecca Childers and Michelle Morris, both of Ozark; fifteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and ten great-great grandchildren. Memorial service will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, Saturday, May 17, 2014 at the home at 908 West School Street in Ozark.

Wesley J. Field, 74, 100 Ashland Court, died Saturday at Bethany Lutheran Home. Mrs. Field was born in Dow City. He lived in Council Bluffs for several years before moving to Russellville, Ark., in 1955. He returned to Council Bluffs in 1988.
He retired as director of processing for the Tyson Food Company in Russellville in 1983. He also worked for Ocoma Company in Russellville for 33 years. He was a member of the Methodist church, Elks Lodge, Rotary Club and the Masonic Lodge in Berryville, Ark. He was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife Maxine; one daughter, Mrs. Carl (Gwendolyn) Smith of Kearney, Mo; one sister, Coyla Petry of Chula Vista, Calif; two brothers, Irwin of Fort Smith, Ark., and Eldon of Zionsville, Ind; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cutler Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark D. Heath of Epworth United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Masonic service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Visitation with the family will follow. Memorials are suggested to the Bethany Lutheran Home of the Alzheimer's Foundation.
