Jesse was born on June 28, 1923 to Mary Balster and Jesse Lone Grahl in Greenville, SC. It was there that he met and married Irene Wilbanks, the Love of His Life. Mr. Grahl served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Grahl founded Grahl Electric Supply Company in West Columbia in 1970. He was a 50 year member of Sinclair Masonic Lodge and a Charter Member of Jamil Shrine Temple, where he served as Potentate in 1983. He was past Scout Master of Cayce Troop #13. Jesse is survived by Irene, his loving wife of 68 years; daughter Pamela G. Hook and husband Rhett; son James (Jimmy) Grahl and wife Faye; grandson Christopher Hook and wife, Kim, all of West Columbia; granddaughters Jamie G. Washburn and husband Michael of Lexington, Nova G. Chartrand and husband Steven of James Island; great granddaughter Michaela Irene Washburn and great grandson James Maxwell Washburn of Lexington. There will be a visitation at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington on Monday, February 8, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 3 p.m. Trinity United Methodist Church of West Columbia, conducted by the Reverend David Day. Burial will follow at Woodridge Memorial Park in Lexington. Active pallbearers will be Christopher Hook, Michael Washburn, Steven Chartrand, Billy Grahl, Robert Grahl and Billy Ellisor. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Jamil Shrine Temple.3 |
