Obit | Emory Boyd's obituary was published in the Morning News on 25 January 1992: Services for former Dallas educator Emory Boyd Curtis will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. Mr. Curtis died Thursday of heart failure at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. He was 84. A graduate of North Texas State University in Denton, Mr. Curtis taught at Amon Carter High School in Fort Worth before serving in World War II. He returned to teaching in 1952, working at Woodrow Wilson High School and Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas. He later worked for the Dallas Independent School District as an adult basic education liaison. He retired in 1975. Mr. Curtis is survived by his wife, Fannie Mae Curtis of Dallas; a daughter, Patsy Curtis Newman of Dallas; and a granddaughter, Cynthia Newman of Dallas.6 |
