(Witness) NoteB | Statement of William T. Anderson, age 39 years, a citizen of Blount County, post office address Tut, sworn on 12 January 1897 in support of Thenia’s pension application. The claimant’s means of support is from what rent she gets from a tract or piece of land in the 5th Civil District of Blount County, Tennessee, containing about 50 acres, and she is aided some by others of her friends who are not legally bound for her support. I rent out her land, and cultivate it, and know the land well, it is not productive farming land, about 40 acres of it is cleared. I would not give over thirty dollars cash rent per year for all of her land. The above is all the real estate she owns or has any interest in. The claimant owns one horse worth from thirty to thirty five dollars and one small mare worth about fifty dollars, one cow worth about twelve or fifteen dollars, and she has some household and kitchen furniture, but none of her personal property brings her any income, and the above is all the property of every kind she owns.4 |
