Obit | Brazelia Willeane's obituary was published in the Unknown Newspaper on 21 September 1922: From Death Certificate: Father Elige Curtis, born TN, mother, unknown. Her name was also spelled Brazeildy and other variant spellings. Wife of Austin Coppinger. Obituary: Mrs. Brazilla Coppinger, widow of Austin Coppinger, died at the home of her son-in-law, DeWitt Sharpe, in Coppinger Cove Friday afternoon at 4:15 o'clock. She had been in bad health about three years and two weeks before her death became bedfast, gradually becoming weaker until her death Friday evening. She was the mother of nine children, six of who survive her and were present at her death. They are as follows: Harve Coppinger, of Beltone, Ala., Mrs. Levi Bowlin, Mrs. S.R. Mosier and Mrs. Wm. Coppinger of Sequachee, Jesse Coppinger of Cartright and Mrs. DeWitt Sharpe of Sequachee. Her oldest son, George Coppinger, was waylaid and murdered at Tracy City about eight years ago and Virgie and Horace died in infancy. Interment was made in the Lasater cemetery Saturday afternoon at 3 pm, her remains being laid beside those of her husband, who died about nine years ago. Service was conducted by Rev. J.H. Lotspeich, pastor of the M.E. Church, So. Whitwell, and was attended by a large number of friends and relatives. She was a member of the M.E. Church. 9/21/22 edition of unknown paper.3 |
