Obit | Oscar Lee's obituary was published in the Daily Oklahoman on 11 September 2005: Oscar Curtis, 86, joined the Community of Heaven on Wednesday, September 7, 2005. He grew up in Fayetteville, Arkansas, and graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1941. He worked for the JC Penney Company for 38 years, managing the Enid store for 22 years. He was predeceased by his first wife, Verneal, in 1967. Their daughter, Margaret Ann, survives him. His second wife, Pat, died in 1997. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Mike Bolen, his grandson and wife, Mark and Kelly Mourer, his great-granddaughter, Reese, and a brother and sister living in Arkansas. Oscar promoted the Enid community for 45 years, moving to Oklahoma City in 2002 to be near his daughter and her husband. Oscar served the Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce, Retail Merchants Association, United Way, Oakwood Country Club, First Presbyterian Church, Air Force Association, Rotary, Senior AMBUCS, SCORE, and Enid City Council. Celebration of Oscar's life will be 4:00 pm Monday, September 12, at First Presbyterian Church in Enid under the direction of Henninger-Allen, with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Air Force Association Grant Fund, 2421 Mt. Vernon, Enid, 73073, or to the First Presbyterian Church, 502 W. Maine, Enid, 73701.8 |
