(Bill) Curtis, 69, who resided on Highway 75 - A north of Denison, died today at 10 a. m. from a heart attack at Vallejo, Calif., where he was visiting his brother. The body will be returned to Denison for burial, with arrangements in charge of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home. Curtis was born in Denison Feb. 14, 1900, and received his schooling here. He and Miss Ruby Montgomery were married at Marietta, Okla., Dec. 11, 1937. He was a carpenter and had been employed by the U. S. Engineers. Curtis was a member of the Methodist Church and the Carpenters Union. Surviving are his wife; one son, Billy of Riverside, Calif.' two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Perkins and Mrs. Helen Bell, Denison; two brothers Robert of Vallejo and Ray of Washington; and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Belle Worthington, Denison, and Mrs. Katy Jones, Washington. Funeral for W. B. (Bill) Curtis, has been set for Monday at 3 p. m. at the Johnson-Moore chapel with Rev. Larkin Collins, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church, officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Other survivors include a brother, Otha of Dallas, eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. The family will be at the funeral home today from 8 p. m. to 9 p. m. Funeral for W. B. (Bill) Curtis was held Monday at 3 p. m. at Johnson-Moore chapel with Rev. Larkin Collins, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church, Officiating. Burial was at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Dophied, Oscar Thornton, Ed McKee, Harry Looney, Riley Christman, and Robert Haskins.2 |

A retired millwright, he was a member of the Redmond Moose Lodge, No. 323. He leaves his widow, Bertha, whom he married in 1937. Also surviving are two sons, Gary Curtis, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Alan Curtis, Redmond; a daughter, Mrs. Dale Christian, Redmond, two brothers, Robert of California and Otha of Texas; two sisters, Katie Jones and Ruth Worthington, both of Texas, and 10 grandchildren.2 |
