Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late King and Allie Sanders Phillips. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. Curtis; one brother, Barnard Phillips; and one sister, Berthie Phillips. Mrs. Curtis was a homemaker and avid farmer. She was of the Church of God faith. Mrs. Curtis is survived by one brother, Ellis "Bud" Phillips of Bryson City; four sisters, Fannie Sanders, Mattie Norris and Ruby Hodgin, all of Franklin, and Susie Bradley of Hendersonville; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel at Macon Funeral Home. Revs. Lee Wright, Randal Phillips and Allen Taylor will officiate. Burial will be in Rush Cemetery. Mrs. Curtis' nephews will serve as pallbearers.3 |

Worth, Texas, and Tommy Curtis of Franklin; two sisters, Edna Keener of Alexandria, Va., and Jean Jones of Las Vegas, Nev; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Myers, and three brothers, Ben, Frank “Doc” B. and Floyd Moffit. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 26, at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Bryant Funeral Home with Rev. Don Moffitt officiating. Pallbearers will be Floyd, Johnny, Tommy and Brian Curtis, Matthew and Chris Smith. Burial will be in the Hickory Knoll United Methodist Church Cemetery.3 |

A native of Macon County, he was a son of Bonnie Melton Brabson of Otto and the late Alex Brabson. He was the husband of Alice Christine Curtis Brabson, who died in 1982. He retired from the Department of Transportation. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Coweeta Baptist Church. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a daughter, Mary Ruth Ledford of Franklin; three sons, Gary Brabson of Franklin, Jackie Brabson of Hayesville and David B Brabson of Otto; four sisters, Cora Mathis of Toledo, Ohio, Blanche Shope and Jean Brabson of Otto, Madge Cabe of Franklin; two brothers, Harry Brabson of Franklin and Perry Brabson of Lawrenceburg, Ky; and four grandchildren. Services will be Saturday in the chapel of Bryant Funeral Home. The Revs. Claude Ledford, Don Moffitt and Bobby Crawford will officiate. Burial will be in the Rush Cemetery.3 |
