Obit | Carl B.'s obituary was published in the Clayton Tribune on 20 November 2003: Carl B. Curtis, 86, of Cumming, died Sunday, Nov. 5 2003. He was born July 5, 1917, in Rabun County to L.H. and Julia Curtis. He retired from the Georgia Power Company in 1986 after 43 years of service. The last 37 those years were spent as manager in Cumming. He served as chairman of the Forsyth County Hospital Board. He was a member and treasurer of the March of Dimes. He served more than 30 years on the Cumming Housing Authority, including many years as chairman. He was the past president of the Cumming Kiwanis Club and was a member and deacon of Cumming Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Carl B. Curtis Survivors include: his wife of 63 years, Sara G. Curtis of Cumming; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dee C. and James I Blalock of Roswell and Linda C. and James Griggs of Washington; four grandsons; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Nov. 11 at Cumming Baptist. Church with the Revs. Mark Harrison and M.A. Wood officiating. Burial followed in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens in Cumming. Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming was in charge of arrangements.4 |
