She was born May 25, 1925, in Lead Hill, the daughter of Troy and Cora (Smith) Curtis. Florene was a lifelong resident of Lead Hill and near lifelong member of Bergman Church of Christ. She enjoyed mowing her yard, burning leaves, farm work, caring for her flower garden, quilting, singing and reading her Bible. She was a cook at Berman School and made an amazing chocolate pie that her grandchildren loved. Mrs. Ramsey was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Ramsey, four brothers, Glen, Horace, Billy and Cecil Curtis; and two sisters, Drucille Crosswhite and Betty Madle.
Florene is survived by her son, J.D. Ramsey; three daughters, Louise Honeycutt of Bergman, Jane Anderson of Lead Hill and Terry Villines of Lead Hill; two sisters, Jessie Creamer and Johnnie Sharp; two brothers, Argil and Tommy Curtis; 9 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at Bergman Church of Christ. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at Bergman Church of Christ, with Jon Hendrix officiating. Interment will be in York Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Florene’s grandchildren.4 |

The daughter of Bert and Ruby "Jimmy" (Norris) Jackson was born March 19, 1928, at Myrtle. Tommy and Vivian were married for 71 years and are survived by sons, Donnie Curtis and Rick Curtis and daughter, Vina Ryan.3 |
