Margaret had a great love for her family, including 11 grandchildren: Lisa, Jessica, Rachael, Alex, Gregory, Mary Clair, David, John-Michael, Matthew, Luke and Mark; three great-grandchildren: Sophie, Moses and Sienna; and many nieces and nephews, in particular Sharon Foreman and her daughter Kelly Matsko. Preceding her in death were her parents; step-mother; husband; brothers Harold "Dude", James "Bud" and Thomas McCamley and two infant brothers. Margaret was a 1936 graduate of the Madera High School and a 1939 graduate of Philipsburg State General Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at the Philipsburg State General Hospital as a registered nurse and later a full-time homemaker for her family. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Philipsburg where she participated in the church and funeral choir and the altar and rosary society. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Saint Louis #723 in Philipsburg. She was most recently a resident of Garvey Manor in Hollidaysburg. She loved God and her family. She enjoyed meeting people and she filled the lives of those who knew her with joy. Friends will be received on Aug. 10 at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St. in Philipsburg from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. A vigil service will be conducted by Rev. Robert Kelly in addition to the recitation of the rosary at 6:30 p.m., both on Aug. 10 at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Philipsburg at 10 a.m. on Aut. 11 with Rev. Robert J. Kelly as celebrant. Obit | James F.'s obituary was published in the Journal Review on 13 May 1953: Funeral services for James F. Sabens were held at the Proffitt & Sons Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery. Rev. Guy Tremaine was the officiating minister. Assisting at the rites as pallbearers were Ralph Armantrout, Alpha VanScoyoc, George Parsons, George Hultz, Mitchell Sabens and William Hinkle. Those who helped with the flowers were Ellen Faust, Lloyd Faust, Dale and Martha Sabens, Ann Hughes, Dan Hughes, Martha Kitsmiller, Virginia Emmet, Judy DeBard and Mary Sue Sabens. Organ selections were played by Mrs. Nellie Shepherd. Mr. Sabens, a well-known resident of this city, died Sunday at the Bever Nursing Home. He was 81 years old. |
