He was born May 6, 1938, at Harding, a son of the late Blair L. and Ava (Cutright) Curtis. He was twice married, first to the late Sandra Sue Harris, who was the mother of his children, and second to the former Nichole Denise Turner, who preceded him in death in 1999. He is survived by two sons, David E. Curtis of Inwood and Bobby D. Curtis of Warrington, Va; two daughters, D.K. Golden of Elkins and Mary L. McCoy and husband, Michael, of Elkins; seven grandchildren, CJ, Matthew, Samantha, Laura, Jessica and Phillip; and four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Tayler, Makayleigh and Camilla. Also surviving are two sisters, Natalie Harris of Junior and Dora Ann Foy and husband, Carl, of Junior; two brothers, Kenneth Curtis and wife, Sue, of Belington and James "Jim" Curtis and wife, Judy, of Junior; and a special nephew, Steven Curtis and wife, Sue, of Junior. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sherri Gale Curtis; and one great-granddaughter, Isabelle Mandana Golden. Mr. Curtis attended the schools of Barbour County and retired from J.F. Allen in Elkins where he had held many jobs. He also was a farmer and loved automobile repair and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was a Protestant by faith. A private family graveside service was conducted Saturday, Feb. 15, at 11 a.m. at the family farm near Junior. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.talbottfuneralhome.com.
