Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at Toedtmann-Grosse Funeral Home, Hermann, A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 18, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mr. Frye was born in New Florence, Missouri on June 2, 1923, the son of the late William R. and Elmary Hudnall) Frye. He was the husband of Marie D. (Boone) Frye. They were married May 1, 1981 at First Baptist Church, Montgomery City, MO. Marie survives in Union, Missouri. Howard proudly served in the U.S.Army Air Corp during WWII. After being discharged from the Air Corp he was in the reserves for three years. Howard was a member of Methodist Presbyterian Church, Montgomery City, Missouri and the American Legion Post 122 of Warrenton, Missouri. He worked as a carpenter and also worked for Binkley Manufacturing in Warrenton for over 32 years as a welder and maintenance man. He enjoyed fishing, camping, wood working, being outdoors and visiting many national parks. He loved blue grass music.
Along with his wife Marie, Howard is also survived by three daughters, Sharon Wilson of Perry, Georgia, Sandra Harrelson & husband Sam of New Hartford, Missouri and Jana Bledsoe & husband Jay of Hartsburg, Missouri, by eight step-children, Barbara McGee of Warrenton, Missouri, Ruth Elaine Wells & husband John of Jonesburg, Missouri, Richard Dunlap & wife Janis of Jonesburg, Missouri, Carol Swope & husband Robert of Union, Missouri, Joyce White of Iowa, Diana Dunlap of Davenport, Iowa, James Dunlap & wife Marcia of New Florence, Missouri and Sandra Conley & husband Otis of Tullahoma, Tennessee. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law Helen Frye of Rhineland, Missouri, and Mary Jo Frye of Mexico, Missouri, by six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, by 26 step grandchildren, 54 step great grandchildren, by four step great-great grandchildren and by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, by a sister Liona Dixon and four brothers Lester, Carl, Harold & Walter Frye. Visitation will be Saturday 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Methodist Presbyterian Church, Montgomery City, Missouri, where funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Ed Hankinson officiating. Interment will be in the Montgomery County Cemetary.5
