He was born on June 6, 1938, in Miami County, the son of Charles and Eleanore "Elsie" Shambarger Slisher. On June 12, 1960, in Logansport, he married Beverly Ann Tabler, and she survives.Mr. Slisher had been owner of Slisher Excavating, specializing in farm drainage, and had worked for the Fulton County Highway Department. He was a U.S. Marine veteran and a member of LICA. In his spare time he enjoyed watching NASCAR, go-karting and the Indianapolis Colts. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Ann Slisher, Rochester; children, Lonie and wife, Nadine Slisher, Peru, Darla and husband, Brent Clemons, Rochester, Bryan and wife, Michaela Slisher, Rochester, and Paul Slisher, Rochester; grandchildren, Lindsey Clemons, Logansport, Ashley and husband, Brad Moon, Twelve Mile, Sgt. Rodney Clemons, San Diego, Calif., and Callie Clemons, Rochester, Brandon Slisher, Mishawka, and Bryanna Slisher and Ginger Slisher, both of Rochester; great-granddaughter, Carley Moon, Twelve Mile; sisters, Betty Tolley, Peru, Margery Sausaman, Mexico, Mary Ann and husband, John Donaldson, Denver, Phyllis and husband, Jim Richey, Macy; brothers, Terry and wife, April Slisher, Kewanna, and Rev. Kenny and wife, Sandy Slisher, Robinson, Ill; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, George Slisher and Gene Slisher.3 |

On Sept. 23, 1967, in Rochester, he married Helen I. Onstott. She survives with two daughters, Rebecca and Sarah Slisher, both of Rochester; four sisters, Betty Tolley and Mary Ann Donaldson, both of Peru, Ind., Margery Sausaman of Mexico, Ind., and Phyllis Ritchie of Macy; and three brothers, Fred of Rochester, Terry of Kewanna and Rev. Ken of Oblong, Ill. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Macy Christian Church. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery, Macy. There will be no visitation. Zimmerman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.3 |

Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Sam (Betty) TOLLEY and Mrs. John (Mary Ann) DONALDSON, both of Peru; Mrs. Larry (Margery) SAUSAMAN, Mexico, and Mrs. Jim (Phyllis) RITCHIE, Macy, and four brothers, Fred [SLISHER], Fulton; George [SLISHER], Rochester; Terry [SLISHER], Kewanna, and Kenneth [SLISHER], Troy, Ill. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Zimmerman Family Funeral Home, Fulton, with Pastors Kenneth SLISHER and David WELSH officiating. Burial will be in the Plainview Cemetery, Macy. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund.2 |
