He was born Aug. 24, 1907 in Monterey to Otto and Jennie HARTMAN SMITH. He was married April 25, 1943 in Macy to Sarah WAGONER, who survives. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Lawton Christian Church. Surviving with the wife are three sons, William and Carl [SMITH], both of Monterey, and Sam [SMITH], Fort Myers, Fla, and eight grandchildren. A daughter preceded in death. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Frain Mortuary, Winamac, with the Rev. Darrell BENDORF officiating. Burial will be in the Reed Cemetery, Winamac. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday.2

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Fry and Lange funeral home in Winamac with the Rev. Charles THORNTON officiating. Burial will be in the Reed cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.2
