BECKER was born August 14th, 1844, in Allen Co., Ohio. After the death of her parents in 1863 she came to Indiana and located near Akron, Ind. She was united in marriage to David MOONSHOWER in 1864. To this union were born four sons. The husband the two sons preceded her to the spirit world. She was left a widow 37 years ago, after which she moved to Hammond, Ind., her present home. A few weeks ago she went to Columbus Grove, Ohio, to visit her two sisters and only brother, when she was suddenly stricken with her last illness of only a few days. On Nov. 24, 1921, just as the day was drawing to its close, life’s silver cord suddenly lost tension, and there was a letting go of all things earthly and her spirit returned to its God. She was permitted to walk down life’s pathway, 77 years 3 months and 10 days. She identified herself with the United Brethren church at Mt. Hope a number of years ago in which faith she still held. She leaves to mourn two sons, Otis MOONSHOWER of Hammond, Ind., Esta MOONSHOWER, of Akron, Ind., one brother, of Harrod, Ohio, two sisters, of Columbus Grove, Ohio, one sister of Akron, Ind., four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends who hold her in sacred memory. Rev. Benj. H. CAIRO officiated. Burial was made in the family lot at Mt. Hope cemetery on Sunday, Nov. 27, 1921.2 |
