Obit | Anna Belle's obituary was published in the Rochester Sentinel on 11 June 1928: Ray Flynn, received a long distance call from Muskegon, Mich., Sunday telling of the death of his mother, Mrs. Anna BROWN, aged 57, who dropped dead there early that morning as she was preparing her breakfast. Death was caused by heart trouble. She was the widow of James BROWN and had lived in Muskegon for 18 years moving there from this city. Mrs. Brown [Anna MOORE] was born in this county and was the daughterr of Theodore and Mary MOORE. Survivors are two sons, Eddie BROWN and Ray FLYNN, her mother, who lives in the State of Washington and three sisters, Mrs. Lee DAVISSON of Tippecanoe, Mrs. Dora EDMINSTER of Peru and Hannah [MOORE] of Muskegon. The funeral arrangements have not been made but it is thought that burial will be made at Muskegon.
June 18, 1928 Mrs. Anna BROWN, of Muskegon, Michigan, was found dead at her home in that city Friday, June 8th, death resulting from a stroke of apoplexy. Mrs. Brown was employed as housekeeper for Nelmer HOLCOMB and it was he that found her dead in the evening upon his return from work at the Continental Motor Corporation. Mr. Holcomb summoned Coroner L. B. LEE and two physicians who pronounced death, which had occurred eight hours before, due to a sudden attack of apoplexy. Anna Belle [MOORE] was born, January 30th, 1871 in Fulton County, Indiana, the daughter of Theodore and Mary E. MOORE. Her father preceded her in death in 1895. She spent the early part of her life in Indiana and the latter in Decatur and Kalamazoo, Michigan, leaving there in 1918 for Muskegon. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Decatur. Besides her mother she leaves to mourn their loss and sorrow, two sons, Ray FLYNN, of Rochester, Ind., and Eddie BROWN, at home in Muskegon; three sisters, Mrs. J. W. DEAL, of Muskegon, Mrs. Dora EDMINSTER, of Peru, and Mrs. Lee DAVIDSON, of Tippecanoe, and a number of friends in Rochester. Burial was made in the Mona View cemetery at Muskegon Heights, Muskegon, Michigan.3 |

Rites are pending at the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home. Ray Flynn Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home for Alfred Ray FLYNN, 72, 1523 Bancroft avenue, who died at his home Thursday of a heart attack at 11 a.m. He was found by city police. Flynn, who operated a trash collection business here, had not been ill and his death was unexpected. The Rev. Graham MARSH will officiate and burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. Born Aug. 18, 1893, in Miami county, Mr. Flynn was the son of Frank and Annabelle MOORE FLYNN. He had spent most of his life here. A veteran of World War I, he was married in Rochester in 1944 to Della CUNNINGHAM, who died March 26, 1964. Surviving are two half-brothers, Harold FLYNN, Plymouth, and Edward BROWN, Muskegon, Mich.10 |

He is survived by his wife and four children, Hilda, Marion, Roland, and Lester Jr., one brother Milo Carr, Urbania, one niece and one nephew. A stepfather, William Lightfoot, Rochester, also survives. Funeral services will be at 2 P.M. Sunday in the Rochester Church of God with the Rev. L.E. Powell officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. Mr Carr was taken to his home late this afternoon from the Zimmerman Brothers funeral home.4 |

She was a member of First Christian Church and also attended the Church of Christ, Rochester. She is survived by one daughter, Linda Wilson, Rochester; a son, Edward (Colleen) Carr, Columbia City; a sister, Helen M. Miller, Rochester, six grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Helt; three sisters and three brothers. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at the Hartzler Funeral Home, Rochester. The Eastern Star will hold a service at 8 p.m. The funeral service is at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Allan Hazen and Rev. Jim Dillenger, officiating. Burial will be in the Plainview Cemetery, Macy.4 |

Surviving with the wife are a son, Mark D. FLYNN, Houston, Texas, and a granddaughter, Crystal Marie [FLYNN]. Two sons, Bruce and Steven [FLYNN], five brothers, and two sisters preceded in death.2 |

She had been a resident of Rochester since 1925, moving here from Ora, Ind. Her husband is Ray FLYNN whom she married in a ceremony performed in Rochester December 15, 1927. Survivors are the husband; three daughters, Mrs. Edna GREEN, Mrs. Effie CARR and Mrs. Dolly McKEE of this city; two sons, Cecil [BURKETT] and Alfred BURKETT, of Ora; sister, Mrs. Dora BEEHLER, Ora; brother, John AUW, of Chicago; 21 grandchildren and 5 step-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Edith WILLARD died January 13, 1939, and another daughter, Emma BURKETT, died November 24, 1936. The funeral services will be held from the Flynn residence in North Madison street at 2:30 o’clock Wednesday afternoon with Rev. Fred YEAZEL officiating. Burial will be made in the Odd Fellows Cemetery.2 |
