John W. Cross Sr., of N. Main St., Fredericktown, died July 16, 1995 at the Hillcrest Nursing Home following a long illness. He was born March 6, 1905 in Cambridge, Oh., the son of Samuel and Bertha (Huntsman) Cross and had been a Columbus resident most of his life. He had been employed as an accountant by the Curtis-Wright, Lustron and North American Rockwell Corp. He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Joan) Burch of Fredericktown; sons, John W. Cross Jr. of Wheat Ridge, Colo., and Paul E. Cross of Fredericktown; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Bryant of Columbus; brother, Charles S. Cross of Beaver Creek, Oreg. He was preceded in death by his wife Esther in 1990, son Richard Cross, one sister and 1 brother. Service will be held Tuesday at 5 p.m. at the DOWDS-WIGGINS-SYNDER FUNERAL HOME, 201 Newark Rd., Mt. Vernon, Oh. The Rev. Doug Lewis will officiate. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Walnut Grove Cemetery in Worthington.²
