Also surviving are his daughter, Ruth Hall of Aberdeen; his sister, Dorothy Cabbi of Porterville, Calif; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Buried in the Winlock Cemetery. Founder’s Son Dies. Word has been received here that Otis Ward Curtis, 77, former Lewis County resident and son of the founder of the Curtis community, died Wednesday at Long Beach. Born March 8, 1893, at Adna, Mr. Curtis had been a sawmill owner and operator most of his life. He had lived in Medford, Ore., for many years before moving to Long Beach to retire. Survivors include a brother, Fuller Curtis, Centralia; three sons, Harold Curtis, Seaview, Howard Curtis, Olympia, and Herbert Curtis, Longview; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Genevieve) Caldwell, Longview, Long Beach and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services will be Saturday at Long Beach with burial to follow at the Long Beach Cemetery.8 |
