On August 20, 1938, he married Dorothy Bunker. His wife survives him at home. Also surviving are his daughter, Ruth Hall of Aberdeen; his sister, Dorothy Cabbi of Porterville, Calif; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Buried in the Winlock Cemetery.2 |

He was employed by the Fisher Flouring Mills, Seattle, for 30 years, and had owned and operated the Napavine Feed Co. for the last eight years. Survivors include the widow, Margaret, at home; a son, Robert L. Curtis Raymond; daughter, Mrs. Steve (Jeanine) Sampson, Margaret, at home; a brother Robert L. Curtis, Portland; six grandchildren, one niece and one nephew. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph’s. Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the church. The Rev. Timothy B. Moynihan will officiate. Interment will be in Claquato Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Stricklin Funeral Home, Chehalis.2 |

On June 30, 1935, he married Mildred Lucas, who preceded him in death. He was a member of the Oregon Fuschia Society. Surviving are a daughter, Barbara A. Vaughan of Portland; a son, Richard L. of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and three grandchildren.3 |

Obit | William Allen's obituary was published in the Chehalis Bee Nugget on 29 June 1914: Allen Curtis, the 17-year-old son of W.A. Curtis who has a store at Adna, was drowned Monday evening while swimming in the Chehalis river. Curtis, in company with Joe Rumpel and Walter Gregg, was swimming directly in front of the Clinton home where the river is very deep. He was about 300 feet from the other boys when they heard him call for help and went to him immediately. Mr. Clinton also heard the call and grabbing a rope went to the river but the boy had gone down the last time before any of them could reach him. The body was recovered about 9 o’clock Tuesday morning about ten feet from the place where Curtis went down. Allen had been in Los Angeles for the past year and came home last week for a visit. About a week ago his mother met with an accident when fell and broke her wrist and threw her ankle out of place. The funeral services were held yesterday morning at Adna, Rev. M.D. Phelps in charge. Interment was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Claquato.4 |
