A native of Rock Creek, Ga., he had lived in Chattanooga for the past 60 years, was a self-employed roofer, a member of Shepherd Baptist Church, and the husband of the late Thelma Baliles and the father of the late David Baliles. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Teague, Chattanooga; five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 12 noon today in Lakewood Memory Gardens South with the Rev. Spencer Johnson officiating. Arrangements by Heritage Funeral Home, East Brainerd.2 |

He was a member of the East Lake Masonic Lodge and an employee of Rivoli Mills. Survivors are wife, Mrs. Frances L. Craig Bettis; a daughter, Mrs. Connie Elizabeth Brookshire, Chattanooga, two sisters, Mrs. Lynell Elkins, Chattanooga, Mrs. Ruth Shadden, Birchwood; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
