She served as secretary for Foree Hospital for 21 years until the hospital closed, and was associated with Athens Federal Community Bank until her retirement. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Carl Hutsell of Athens; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Kevin Shaughnessy of Hixson; a very special grandson, James Shaughnessy of Hixson; one sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Harold Benson of Etowah; one brother-in-law and his wife, Jack and Betty Hutsell of Athens; one sister-in-law, Doris Crowel Moore of Chickmauga, Ga; three nieces, Elaine Wilson of Atlanta, Ga., Karen Sullivan of Athens, and Jayne Wise of Sevierville; one nephew, Randy Benson of Sevier County; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Smith Funeral & Cremation Service with the Rev. Jason Clark officiating. Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday in McMinn Memory Gardens. A brother, William Harold Hobson, preceded her in death. The service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Costin Funeral Chapel, The Rev. Jeff Sexton will officiate.
