They were married Dec. 28, 1879.Together they had four daughters. Their names are; Rhoda, Ruby, Nancy & Daisy.After Elijah's death, Samirah married Pleasant 'Pleas' H. Lovell on June 3, 1890 in Newton County, AR. They had a daughter named Effie and a child that died in infancy. (Pleasant was born about 1862. He is the son of Robert Lee Lovell and Permilia 'Meeley' Ann "Thurman" Lovell. They were married Oct 24, 1900, Newton County, AR) Pleas Lovell was indicted, convicted and sent to prison for raping two of his step daughters, Ruby and Rhoda. The public records of his acts are on file at the Newton County court house in Jasper, Arkansas. He died in prison. After Pleasant's death, Samirah married William Riley Curtis (25 Apr 1860 - 26 Sep 1923)son of Amos Ferguson Curtis and Rachel Ellie Daniels. William's memorial page number is, 6448846 All the great grandchildren called her grandma Curtis.4 |
