Chaffee – Robert E. Curtis Sr., of Route 2, Chaffee, died Saturday, July 29, 1989, at 5:12 a.m. at the Chaffee General Hospital. He was 76. He was born at McEwen, Tenn., on Aug. 3, 1912, son of Josh and Mary Hatcher Curtis. He married Alice Garrison on Oct. 5, 1929 and she survives. He was a retired carpenter and retired Pentecostal church minister, serving in Caruthersville and Conran.
Other survivors are three sons: Robert Curtis Jr., of Dexter, Claude Curtis, of Chaffee, and Charley Curtis, of McClure, Illinois; three daughters, Virginia Ash, of Puxico, Bernice Davis, of Jackson, and Janeth Moss, of San Antonio, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.³
