He had been seriously ill for three months. He had resided in Macy and vicinity his entire life. The son of Phillip and Mary (SWARTZLANDER) HECKATHORN, he was born Oct. 22 1871, at Deedsville. He was wed to Cora Edith HARTMAN March 30, 1893. The couple observed their 62nd wedding anniversary this year. Mr. Heckathorn was a member of the Macy Methodist church and the Miami County Farm Bureau. Surviving are his wife, at home; and the following children: Mrs. Alta EYTCHESON, Fulton; Mrs. Edna PRATT and Mrs. Goldie BAKER, both of Macy; Kerch [HECKATHORN], Nyona Lake; Lester and Kenneth [HECKATHORN], both of Fulton; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. A brother, Milton [HECKATHORN], of Peru, also survives. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. CST Sunday at the Macy Methodist church. The Rev. Doyle PAVEY will officiate. Burial will be in the Macy Plainview cemetery. Friends may call at the residence after 1 p.m. Saturday and at the church an hour prior to the services.3 |

Mrs. Heckathorn had lived in Macy the past 10 years, moving there from Fulton county. She was a member of the Macy Methodist church. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Alta EYTCHESON, Fulton; Mrs. Edna PRATT and Mrs. Goldie BAKER, both of Macy; three sons, Lester [HECKATHORN], R.R. 4, Rochester; Kirch [HECKATHORN], Nyona Lake, and Kenneth [HECKATHORN], Fulton; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Esta HARTMAN, Macy, and one sister, Mrs. Eva SOUTHERTON, Macy. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Macy Methodist church with the Rev. Richard SUMMER officiating. Burial will be in Plainview cemetery. Surviving with the wife are four sons, John [PRATT], Crown Point; William [PRATT], South Bend, and Edward and Raymond [PRATT], both of California; and two daughters, Mrs. Edith NOBLE, Vevay, and Mrs. Cynthia MUNSON, New Castle. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Macy Methodist church, with the Rev. Ronald HARSHMAN officiating. Friends may call at the McCain funeral home at Ind. 16 and U.S. 31.
