Joseph and his parents, Henry and Catharine Curtis lived about a mile West of the old IOOF Cemetery, now known as Roann Community Cemetery.... the family was very poor and Joseph was only 34yrs. old when he died. There is a grave marker in the Roann Community Cemetery with the name Rebecca. Listing her and husband, J. H. Curtis. Next to this stone is one for David Nicholas... Rebecca's second husband. .. Joseph is on her stone." - G.J. Curtis. Joseph and Rebecca's children: John Henry, Mahlon, James Albert, Minnie and Sarah Catharine Curtis. Rebecca and David Nicholas had Bertha.3
