VICE, 74, LaPaz, died at 4:42 a.m. Wednesday in the South Bend Osteopathic hospital following a four-week illness. A retired carpenter, Mr. Vice was born Dec. 9, 1893, in Boone county, the son of Marion and Annie SHELTON VICE. On Nov. 23, 1913, in Macy, he was married to Ruth ALLEN, who survives. He lived in LaPaz 26 years, moving there from the Macy area. Also surviving are three sons, Jesse [VICE], Rochester; Wallace [VICE], Macy, and Leonard W. [VICE], Plymouth; three daughters, Mrs. Irvin WARNER, Mrs. Kenneth BALMER, and Mrs. Gary VINNEY, all of LaPaz; two sisters; one brother; fifteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Last rites will be at 1 p.m. Saturdy in the Johnson funeral home in Plymouth. The Rev. W. W. CALE will officiate. Burial will be in the Five Corers cemetery at Macy. Friends may call at the funeral home.6 |

Other survivors include two step-children, Richard Kashulines and Joan Godfred, their spouses and children; Also a brother, R. Milton Schober, Holton, Kansas; and a sister Leota Sprague, Phoenix, Ariz. Burial was in the cemetery in Hudson, N. H.2 |

Graveside services were Saturday, August 31, at 10 a.m. at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, Phoenix with Reb Harry F. Ryan officiating. Arrangements were made by Mercer Mortuary and Chapel, Phoenix.4 |

Obit | Mary's obituary was published in the Rochester Sentinel on 16 December 1955: Mrs. Mary CUFFEL, 87, former resident of the Akron community, died at 11:30 a.m. today at the home of her niece, Mrs. Lois CUFFEL of route 2, Argos. She had made her home there for the past four years. She was born Dec. 23, 1867 on a farm near Argos to Israel and Nancy ROBERT. Her husband, William H. CUFFEL to whom she was wed on Nov. 9, 1905, died in 1942. Mrs. Cuffel was a member of the Antioch church, near Argos. Survivors are the above named niece, and two step-sons, Charles CUFFEL and Roy CUFFEL of Los Angeles, Cal. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Grossman funeral home, Argos. The Rev. Milo CORMICAN will officiate and burial will be in the Oak Hill cemetry at Plymouth. Friends may call at the funeral home.2 |
