Death was due to complications. He was born May 15, 1864 at Macy, the son of David and Ellen FOOR. He had resided in Richland township since 1906 coming there from North Dakota. He was married December 24, 1889, to Essie M. SCHOOLCRAFT, who preceded him in death several years ago. He was a member of the Sand Hill Methodist church. Survivors include: five sons, Ossie [FOOR], of Willoughby, O; Furman [FOOR] and Jesse [FOOR], both of South Bend; James [FOOR], of Wanatah; and Dennis [FOOR], at home; two brothers, Frederick [FOOR], Rochester, and Dr. J. D. FOOR, Terre Haute; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Sand Hill Methodist church with Rev. John Paul JONES in charge. Burial will be made in the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery. The body will be returned to the Foor residence this evening from the Foster funeral home.¹

Osa V. FOOR, 58, died at 2 a.m. this morning at Billings hospital in Indianapolis. A local resident for 40 years, he suffered frequent heart attacks. A brother, Dennis [FOOR], also lives in Rochester.
He was born in Miami county and lived there until eight years ago. A retired salesman, he was a member of the American Legion. Other survivors include his wife, Vera [FOOR], and a daughter, Jane Iona [FOOR], Raleigh, N.C. and three other brothers, Feman [FOOR], Pine Bluff, N.C., Jeff [FOOR], South Bend and James [FOOR] Wanatah, Ind. The body arrived at the Foster funeral home this afternoon. Funeral arrangements are pending.⁵

Death was due to a heart attack. Born in September, 1891, at Macy, he was the son of Parlee and Effie SCHOOLCRAFT FOOR. He was married in 1924 to Caroline WENDLER, who died Dec. 25, 1950. A carpenter, Mr. Foor was a veteran of World War I when he served in the Alsace-Lorraine and Meuse-Argonne areas. Surviving are two brothers, Dennis FOOR, R.R. 3, Rochester, and James FOOR, LaPorte; two nieces and four nephews. Two brothers preceded him in death. Fneral services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Foster & Good funeral home here with the Rev. Paul STEELE officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today. The Leroy Shelton Post No. 36, American Legion, will conduct graveside rites.²

He was married Feb. 18, 1950, to Helen ESSLINGER, who survives. Mr. Foor was a member of the Westville lodge No. 192 F. and A.M. Past Masters association, Scottish Rite and the Orak temple, Hammond. He was also a member of the Allis Chalmers Senior league. Surviving are the wife; one brother, Dennis FOOR, Rochester; four step-daughters, Mrs. Dorothy HEMINGER, LaPorte; Mrs. Lois WRIGHT, LaCrosse; Mrs. Virginia FOOR, LaPorte; and Mrs. Margey KEPCHA, LaPorte; one step-son, Melvin ESSLINGER, Rockfalls, Ill; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. The Rev. Paul STEELE will officiate at the services, and burial will be in the Westville cemetery. Masonic rites will be conducted at graveside. Friends may call at the funeral home.²

Dennis H. FOOR, 76, of 200 Pontiac St., died at 9:50 p.m. Monday in Woodlawn Hospital. He had been a patient five weeks, and in failing health six months. He was born Sept. 28, 1909 in Richland Township to Parlee and Essie Mae SCHOOLCRAFT FOOR and had resided all his life in that community. He was married May 21, 1949 at Richland Center to Mary M. BARKER, who survives. A retired farmer, he had been a school bus driver for 25 years. He attended the Jordan Baptist Church. Surviving with the wife are two sons, Dennis “Mike” FOOR, Rocheter; five grandchildren, Stephen, Leighann and Erik FOOR, all of Carmel, and Amanda and Vanessa FOOR, both of Rochester; and nieces and nephews. The parents and four brothers, Osa, Ferman, Jesse and Jim [FOOR], preceded in death. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rocheter with the Rev. Arlie MITCHUM officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. until time of services Thursday.⁵

He lived in LaPaz 26 years, moving there from the Macy area. Also surviving are three sons, Jesse [VICE], Rochester; Wallace [VICE], Macy, and Leonard W. [VICE], Plymouth; three daughters, Mrs. Irvin WARNER, Mrs. Kenneth BALMER, and Mrs. Gary VINNEY, all of LaPaz; two sisters; one brother; fifteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Last rites will be at 1 p.m. Saturdy in the Johnson funeral home in Plymouth. The Rev. W. W. CALE will officiate. Burial will be in the Five Corers cemetery at Macy. Friends may call at the funeral home.²
