Curtis and Sadie Eppler Curtis. She moved with her family to Amarillo around 1900. She was educated at St. Mary's Academy here and the Science Hill Preparatory School in Selbyville, KY. She later attended Wellesley College and the University of Texas at Austin where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Mrs. Boyce served as president of the Amarillo Girl Scout Council during the building of Camp Kiwanis and as chairman of volunteer services during World War II for the Amarillo chapter of the American Red Cross. She was president of both the Amarillo Women's Club and the Amarillo Junior Women's Club and a charter memeber of the Amarillo Junior League. She also served as presidnet of the Margaret Wills and Sam Houston Parent-Teacher Associations. She was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. A registered genealogist, she had works published in the American Compendium of Genealogy. She was married to John Kirkpatrick Boyce in 1922. He preceded her in death seven years ago. Survivors include two sons, John K. Boyce Jr. and James C. Boyce of Amarillo; a daughter , Mrs. Spencer Brown of Waco; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Interment: December 27, 1982.9
