A terrible fire broke out in the early evening, eventually killing 322 inmates. Not only was the state penitentiary fire the worst fire in Ohio's history, it was also the worst fire in American prison history.4,3

Eileen was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Foy Faulks; one brother, J. B. Smith; and one sister, Inez Gaines. She is survived by her daughter, Marian Teague and husband John; two grandchildren, Chris Teague and wife Shelly of Lubbock, TX, and Noelle Lindberg and husband Darrell of Trent, TX; five great-grandchildren, Austin, Treg and Sidney Teague of Lubbock and Zach and Madison Lindberg of Trent.1

May Company as a steel hanger. He retired in 1971. He married Rose Mary Hammontree in 1961 at Wheeler. Mr. Dockins was a Christian. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ivan Marie Prosser and husband, Larry, of Amarillo and Lisa Rose Barton of Mobeetie; a brother, Elray Dockins and wife, Gwyn, of Washburn; two sisters, Katherine Humphreys and husband, Don, of Wheeler and Kathleen Mote and husband, Eugene, of Wellington; four grandchildren, Dena Allen, Desiree O'Donnell, Haley Barton and Kasey Barton; and three great-grandchildren.2 
Death*He died on 18 October 2004 at Amarillo, Potter, Texas, at age 68; buried at Mobeetie Cemetery in Wheeler County.2

Hollis Dockins Sr., 63, of Amarillo died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002. Mr. Dockins was born in Apache, Okla., and moved to Amarillo in 1964 from Wellington. He was the retired owner of A&H Overhead Door Co. He married Ann Hellaway on Oct. 1, 1965, in Amarillo. He was the backbone of the family. He was the best husband, daddy and grandpa and he will be missed dearly.Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Hollee Phillips and husband, David, of Amarillo; a son, Hollis Dockins Jr. and wife, Monica, of Amarillo; three sisters, Kathleen Mote of Wellington, Katy Humprey of Wheeler and Casie Hixon of Waco; three brothers, Leon Dockins of Mobeetie, Elray Dockins of Washburn and Salty Dockins of Sayre; and four grandchildren, Andy Phillips, Brock Dockins, Brook Dockins and Brett Dockins, all of Amarillo.3
