He was a member of Colonial Beach United Methodist Church, the Methodist Men and the choir. He was a member of Colonial Beach Lions Club, having served as its president two times. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Wells Ladd of the home; his children, Edward W. Ladd Jr. and his wife, Marcey, of Laurel, Md., and Lenny D. Ladd and his wife, Darlene, of Colonial Beach, Doris Wingo Durocher and her husband, Thomas, of North Carolina and William P. Wingo of Colonial Beach; 21 grandchildren; more than 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Wingo Charnick, and a son, James A. Ladd. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Colonial Beach United Methodist Church, with the Rev. James Maddox officiating. Burial will follow in Historyland Memorial Park in King George County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Colonial Beach United Methodist Church, Box 189, Colonial Beach, Va. 22443. Nash & Slaw Funeral Home, Colonial Beach, is handling the arrangements.5 |
