Brower conducted the funeral and burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery. Mrs. Curtis was born in Waverly, Tenn. on February 10, 1883, the daughter of george and Bell Smith. In Waverly, in 1902, she was married to Dalton Curtis and the family moved to Pemiscot County in 1920. Her husband passed away on May 3, 1931. Survivors include a brother, T.O. Smith of this city; a siter, Mrs. Goldie Hedge of San Antonio, Texas; and seven grandchildren.5 |

(Witness) Obit | Garnet Maenon Curtis witnessed the Obit of Randforth Watt circa 22 December 1975 at Unknown Newspaper Funeral services for Randorth "Bud" Watt 52, who died December 21, at the Community Memorial General Hospital in La Grange, Ill., were held last Wednesday morning in the Church of God. Rev. John Palmer officiated with interment in Maple Cemetery with the H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Watt was born in Newbern, Tenn., on June 27, 1923 to Gladys Watt and the late Fate Thomas Watt. He attended the Canady Switch School and on January 27, 1943 at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., he enlisted in the United States Army. He received his honorable discharge at Scott Field, Ill., on November 28, 1945. On October 12, 1946 in Caruthersville he was united in marriage to Miss Maenon Curtis. The family moved from Pemiscot County to Cook County, Ill., in 1948 where Mr. Watt was self-employed as a contractor and carpenter. He was a member of the Narranganset Church of God in Chicago, Ill. Survivors include his wife, Maenon Watt of Berkley, Ill., one son, Randy Watt also of Berkley. His mother, Mrs. Gladys Watt, of Hayti, and one brother, J.T. Watt, also of Hayti. Pallbearers were: Speedy Curtis, Gus Curtis, Ruben Nunley, Roy Harrell, Jack Curtis and Larry Curtis.4

He served a tour of duty in Germany where he met and married Patricia M. Pitchforth of Milford, Utah. He worked for the Kimball Equipment Company of Salt Lake City for 28 years. He enjoyed his family, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, daughters; Ann Nellene (Dennis) Guy of Las Vegas; Bridget Clayton Greenway of Salt Lake City; and son Wilkie D. (Betty) Curtis Jr. of Billings, Montana. There are six grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Jack, Gus, Speedy and Larry Curtis. Preceding him in death were sisters Maenon Watt, Dollie Nunley and June Curtis as well as a brother, Richard Curtis. Burial will be at the Camp Williams National Memorial Cemetery, Friday, August 16, 2002, 1:30 p.m.3 |
