Land Sale* On 13 September 1853 Andrew J. Curtis sold land at Humphreys, Tennessee, for $50 to John Swift, the same 5 acre tract he purchased in July; witnessed by J. Crockett and B. Parnell.7 
Land Sale On 20 March 1856 Andrew J. Curtis sold land at Humphreys, Tennessee, for $100 to T.A. Smith and John Townsend, described as ". . . two undivided interests in a certain tract of land lying on the south prong of Blue Creek of Tennessee River known as the Martha Curtis tract of land, in the state of Tennessee Humphreys Count and District No. 4, containing by estimation sixteen and two-third acres." I believe this means there were six interests in Martha's land, of which A.J. had acquired one, perhaps that of Miner Curtis, deceased.8
