Mrs. Gertrude KENNELL, 84, Watseka, Ill., former Rochester resident, died at 1:15 a.m. Saturday at her residence. She had been ill for some time Born March 28, 1886, in the Rochester area, she was the daughter of William and Della PRILL GARNER. Her marriage was June 6, 1903, in Rochester, to William KENNELL, who survives. She had resided in Watseka since 1960, moving from Rochester. She was a member of the United Methodist church at Watseka and the Homemakers Extension club. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Alvan (Miriam) [SAUER], Watseka; one sister, Mrs. Ellis (Golda) ZAHUISER, Oceanside, Cal; one brother, Clyde GARNER, Kewanna; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Final rites will be at 2 p.m. today in the Foster & Good funeral home. The Rev. Vernon LALLEMENT will officiate. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.1 |

Obit | William's obituary was published in the Newspaper on circa 16 February 1894: William C. Pavey was born in Warsaw, Indiana, August 15th 1837, and came with his parents to Nebraska in 1849. He enlisted in Missouri 5th Cavalry, Co. D, in April, 1862 and served until mustered out, when he returned to Nebraska, where he has made his home ever since. He was the only son of seven children, there being only three now living—Mrs. J.B. Hoover and Mrs. J.P. Hoover of this place, and Mrs. J.R. Wilcox of Red Cloud, Nebraska.5 |
