Obit | Paul T.'s obituary was published in the Wichita Eagle on 29 September 1992: Fairview - Graveside service for Paul T. Sunderland, 78, who died Monday, Sept. 28, 1992, at his daughter's home in Wichita, Kan., will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Fairview Cemetery at Fairview. The Rev. John Lawler will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home. He was born May 18, 1914, at Duquoin, Kan., to Vernol and Ethel Pettit Sunderland and at the age of eight moved with the family to a farm near Byron where he attended school. In 1934, he married Marjorie Burghardt. He was employed by Santa Fe Railroad for about 20 years, the last several years at Fairview. In 1952, he married Mildred Tillery. From 1953 to his retirement in 1977, he was employed as a supervisor of Rockwell International at McGregor, Texas. He lived at McGregor until August of 1992 when he moved to Wichita. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ken (Shirley A.) Doane of Wichita; two brothers, Walt of Bluff City, Kan., and Bud of Wichita; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.4 |
