He is survived by his wife, Helen Hollenbaugh Rankin; one daughter, Lois Jean Rankin of Bay City, TX; three sons, Herbert Wayne Rankin, Sr., Vernon G. Rankin, Jr. and Roy W. Rankin, Sr., all of Berkeley Springs; two sisters, LeEsta Anderson and Rita Lea Lutman, both of Berkeley Springs; 13 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Rankin and James Starliper; and one granddaughter. Services will be held Thursday, August 3, at 11 a.m. at the Hunter-Anderson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs, with the Rev. Jack Hiles officiating. Interment will be in the Bethel Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.4
